Zuckerberg hoped a carefully planned 'chance' encounter would open doors into China's lucrative market, but Xi's entourage made sure no eye contact—or conversation—was possible. Zuckerberg previously boasted of a brief Mandarin chat with Xi, but this time, Xi effectively ghosted him.
