If Bitcoin is a success it will be because of its conservative aspects, and come to be know as the greatest feat in conservatism.
In fact Bitcoin in a word is conservatism.
Invert conservative for progressive to understand why I detest you.
Bitcoin may succeed because it’s the best form of money we’ve ever invented. The conservative nature of the protocol is one of its strengths.
Taking care of your health, not allowing govt to propagandize your kids, & your life philosophy all have a lot to do with sound money & low time preference.
Bitcoin is just money.
Money is half of every trade, & quite literally the key to mutually beneficial human interaction. Sound money vs corrupt money is the difference between prosperity & slavery. Bitcoin IS money that is JUST, but saying "it's just money" suggests a particularly shallow understanding of what money actually is. We are a trading species & good money keeps us human. Bad money creates hell on earth.

Nah, the books that have come out in the last few years have just finally started putting into words the things some of us knew back in 2010 or 2011. And people like Rothbard & others had it figured out long before that. Thankfully lots of people can be carried along whether they understand it or not.

I think you’re both right. Some people (like me) will enjoy Jesus, steak, and homeschooling with or without the existence of sound money. But I’ve heard plenty of stories of people actually becoming interested in these things because of the incentives Bitcoin brings.
And we can’t predict all the cultural change true sound money will bring. Sound money just needs to be sound money, and will generally incentivize long-term thinking; though we can’t always know what that will look like exactly, it clearly correlates with certain religious, family, and diet choices right now.
