Ok just asking myself why frequency and voltage can’t regulate themselves like fan control, so that the device is not running in idle in case of overheating…

In extreme cases like with faulty cooling it’s not possible to run at all. In these cases we need to shutoff ASAP to save the Bitaxe from damage.
In less severe cases like when the thermal paste is bad, fan is wearing out, or the room is too warm, I think the user should make some small adjustments and get back to hashing at full speed.
