I think something is missing here. I use Alby and I'm self hosting. They don't charge me anything other than my time. I donate when I feel like it.

If you want to pay for their hosting solution you can but they do not force you. The wallet has changed because of AML/CIA/FBI/ATF/MSNBC/KYC. The politicians have already figured out other ways to launder their money so we have to minimize the surface of developer capture by changing the dynamic.

It's really good that we have many different ways of connecting so it's good that you've found a solution. As always things will change as we are on the bleeding edge.

Derek Ross mentioned in parentheses that you have manage the node and payment channels yourself for a free solution.

But the dude he was replying to just got on nostr and had no clue what a lightning address was.

I agree, it is good that we have multiple solutions. However, both coinOS and AlbyHub relay have had down in the last two weeks.

So even Albyhub is reliant upon their relay staying online for your to transact though that solution.

Personally im looking at self-hosted LNbits for being my number 1 lightning solution. V1 is right around the corner

I was on Twitter when the NOSTR missionaries approached. I made my secret key and it took a year before I could make heads or tails of anything.

I have lost a lot of Bitcoin messing around.

None of this is permanent. Still the work needs to be done so we might as well work on joy instead of dystopia.

I'm so glad I'm not in charge.
