Peeps I’m seeking inspiration.

I find it always difficult to manage my meals (what to eat and when) and to stay aware that I don’t have to throw away many leftovers or open/used packages with stuff in it.

I’m cooking on my own for about 2 years. I think it will get better over time but still,

I’m just curious… how does your kitchen/meal/preb routine looks like? 🧑‍🍳 #foodstr #food #cooking

I have a simple system for this:

Step 1: Letting my girlfriend manage everything kitchen related

Done 😅

As much meal that u can eat with spoon.

Why?

You mean cooking much things that you can eat with a spoon 🥄 ?

nix da :D

✌️

Our food routine is like this: breakfast at 8 am, lunch at 1 pm and dinner at 8 pm. We have downloaded a list of homemade dishes from the internet and each day we choose one of our favorite dishes. To save time, we cook for two meals every time, the second meal is for the next day.

Do you eat at Home or at work? And thanks 🤙🏼

At home. And your welcome.

Weekly menu! We shop once a week. So we construct a menu of what we want to eat for 7 days. Take stock of inventory in the fridge and pantry to try to use that up asap. Then make a shopping list to fill in what is needed for the menu plus restocking staples especially items on sale.

Thanks for the tips 🫂🫂

I cook and do meal prep once a week for lunch and dinner. Makes it easier than trying to figure out what I want to eat every day.

Meal prepping is nice. What’s your favorite meal to prep? Thanks 💚

I cook a few times a week, but I make enough for many meals at a time. I'm moving to a more carnivore-based diet and that simplifies a lot of things.

When you have gardens chickens etc, and prefer to use wood fire for cooking, then you usually cook something out of this material. That's what i do. That means , i think, that you may adjust your cookware also, to cast iron probably.

But i didn't do this always. So, you can get an idea of what to cook, if you look at the meal schedule in facilities like universities, army barraks etc. They have to have a balanced schedule, so that's a base, then you can adjust to your likings

Thanks! I still have problems managing since the garden is not right next to where I live. I really have to plan what I can take with me. Hope I can make some more stocks from my vegetables this year! For last winter I had onions, broccoli frozen, some paprika and carrots canned. Organizing food was never a strength but something that will be developed when I keep going. 💚

Μaybe you need a different approach on organising food storage. For example i find it convenient to have next ro every shelf that stores something, an nfc tag that is rewritable where i keep information about the date of storage plus other details if needed, so every time i scan them and i know quickly what is to expire soon and what i have to replace. Others may need a database accecible via a reverse proxy web server so when they are in the garden they can see what to take or not. Who knows... You will find your way i believe. Just follow the way that is fun for you to enjoy

You are a genius with your nfc tags :D taking notes… 👏🏼

I also don’t know what to cook, mostly there is always tomatoes with it. And it has to be simple, easy and not to much work to do it😎😁

Often it be like that :D

Couple of batch meals to fall back on for the win!
