Which part of the world is that where melons are ripe now?
Discussion
south of Spain. We had a very hot spring. Too hot and too little water for our terms.
South of Portugal here.
Same situation.
But I don't grow veg, just animal products, so I don't know.
oh you're not that far away then. nice! What kind of animals do you breed or what kind of products?
We have chickens for eggs and meat, goats (milk) and seasonally pigs.
I'm still amazed that you already have tomatoes and melons from your neighbour...are they from a greenhouse?
No, no greenhouse. Tomatoes and peppers grow here all year. The melon came at a surprise but it's very small so I guess it's an early one.
I also get eggs every week and since you have chicken yourself you know that those eggs can't even be compared to what they're selling in supermarkets as eggs these days.
We have goats too. Our area is famous for it's goat cheese though I'm not a big fan of goat milk or cheese. It's like the only cheese you get around here currado, semi-currado or plain. But it's all the same cheese 😆
