Frame.work is a great Linux machine btw.

My issue with those is that they don't offer enough GPU options.
16" has pluggable GPU and so can be switched in the future. Albeit only one option currently.
Shame they don't have that feature on the desktop.
My issue with startups like these is that they rarely have a future in which you can buy another component. 6 years down the road, when I might want to swap a part, will they even be around anymore? Or support the old models? If they do, the total upgrade price for those parts still won't be able to compete with a second hand ThinkPad.
This has been tried with smartphones too but the market is evolving too fast for it to make sense to have modular hardware.
That's their plan and I'm happy to support them in achieving it by buying their hardware.
I think the smaller form factor and higher finish expectations makes this harder for smartphones, but I'd love to see a frame.work phone running nostr:nprofile1qqs9g69ua6m5ec6ukstnmnyewj7a4j0gjjn5hu75f7w23d64gczunmgpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumt0wd68ytnsw43q4gnztg.
Well, every trend has to end, maybe this time it's different 📈
