I'm also very close to dropping Amethyst as my mainstay client, seeing as I can't tag anyone or tap certain images without the fucking app crashing.

Had a better post with an image attached, and as soon as I tried tagging Xanny I lost it along with the alt caption.

Just like I ditched LibreTube once it became unbearable to use, I will not hesitate to do the same with Amethyst.

Check out Freetube app

Using Grayjay on mobile now, but I'll definitely look into Freetube as a desktop option if I decide using an adblocker on the main JewTube site or Piped/Invidious aren't enough.

What are you trying next? Amethyst has been unstable for a while, slows down before it crashes so feels like a memory leak. I know a lot of extra dev work has gone into Primal recently, might check out their mobile client.

Experimenting with Amber now, and looking to replace Spring once I lock down on essential Nostr services it curates (God knows I'm not going to use ALL of them lol).

Working great so far, except for making PoW posts with noStrudel.

Lmk what mobile client you land on, I've been meaning to branch out myself. You're far from the only one to have that crashing issue. Was a long thread of people with the exact same complaint just last week. I can find it if you want.

I've been out the loop for a bit due to irl shit so not even sure what Spring is. I know Amber is a signer so you don't need to put your nsec into apps, right?

I'm gonna test drive Primal for a bit.

Ah, Spring is a Nostr-centric browser that doubles as a signing extension; it's mainly backed by Nostr.Band and works well from my time using it.

Considering I'm using Amber now, that purpose is now redundant for me as I can use Calyx Chromium with my go-to Nostr apps. Good for discovery though, since there are some services I didn't know existed until Spring revealed them to me.

I also have the Primal client on my phone, but don't use it much as it was lacking in feature set compared to Amethyst. Now it has the one thing it doesn't currently: stability.

Ohh I'm gonna check Spring out. Sounds great for discovery. Love the pace of development from this community. Really want to contribute to some projects myself once work and personal shit calms down a little.

Agreed 100% about Amethyst. I stuck with it despite the instability because it has all the features. I likely will keep it installed but use another client with fewer features and more reliability as my daily driver.

Btw here is the Amethyst crash thread I mentioned. It mentions Graphene but it happens on all Android devices I tried it on.
