I am in a group chat with people that are anti government and it is very eye opening seeing how they talk about cryptocurrency. A lot of them believe blockchain is a tool for the government to trace your purchase history and spy on you. Others believe that it’s a scam and will just disappear. It’s going to take time for people to grasp concepts like immutability, UTXOs, and private keys. We are sooooo early on #Bitcoin

Dude I tried to onboard to nostr today said this:
"Hi- thank you for your invitation, but the interface doesn't seem so friendly and based on some screenshots it seems that this is a pyramid scheme (I'm not saying that is good or bad, just that I don't have much time to invest into this at this time)."
Look to the third world to lead adoption
Oh most definitely! We should see a massive wealth transfer in our life time.
Sometimes I wonder if we really are just super early, or if the elites really do get it too and are just silent about stacking sats.
They might be just pushing FUD and propaganda in an effort to keep as many people from buying in before they can stack up.
It’s only a mass transfer of wealth if all the people use it and the elites are last to the party. Otherwise it’s just the evolution of wealth.
I see your point but I should clarify. I meant a massive wealth transfer in the sense that poor people in 3rd world countries will get cheaper sats because they are early compared to average people living in the 1st world who still don’t seem to get it.
You also might be correct about the elite privately stacking sats. There was a good podcast by Natalie Brunel recently with Grant McCarty. McCarty said that there are people in government holding Bitcoin but not allowed to talk about it. It was also reported today that Biden’s communications director owns Bitcoin.
I wonder that sometimes.
Yea I don't understand how people in the freedom movement just don't get Bitcoin.
They only offer gold as a solution but they can never give a good reason why gold won’t fail again.
There's definitely some disconnect somewhere.
Maybe "digital" scares them away. Some think all digital is bad.
It’s because they can’t touch it 😂
There’s this strange idea that assets and money need to have intrinsic value or be backed by something. The truth is that value is subjective.
😂 I do see the appeal of horse carriage rides though lol
I would say the energy spent to mine Bitcoin is what gives it real value.
Value is always subjective 😄
"Value is not intrinsic, it is not in things.
It is within us; it is the way in which man
reacts to the conditions of his environment. Neither is value in words and doctrines, it is reflected in human conduct. It is not what a man or groups of men say about value
that counts, but how they act.” — Ludwig von Mises
