A lot of this that he states is fearmongering (stuff that can be theoretically disabled in settings) or functionality that he mentions that is already surpassed by three letter agencies for things such as tracking. If you're looking for something that is certainly secure and private, don't look at iOS or Android, but either aren't terrible for "most" people.

What are the other options aside from iOS or android?
I'm strictly speaking of the OS, but you can get something like nostr:npub1235tem4hfn34edqh8hxfja9amty73998f0eagnuu4zm423s9e8ksdg0ht5 or nostr:npub1dck0p7jr7p89rjvnr5cr3pyv9vymj580vyx7yw87exm0hucsq4pswnvd6y. They're more privacy focused if that's what you're looking for.
AbovePhone has piqued my interest, but I would rather get one and do some testing app availability and compatibility before ditching my main phone.
Never heard of it, I’ll have to check them out. Thank you
