There’s a strain of bitcoiner/libertarian that is convinced the government is all powerful, and if you ID yourself to them, they’ll punish you. That the NSA is on Nostr, that you have to remain anonymous, that you have to hide yourself from the government, do everything in secret.
I confess I am susceptible to this type of reasoning as there is no line people will not cross to further their agendas or maintain power, and if you are perceived as a threat, they will go after you. And I also do believe in privacy and also obvious op sec like not putting your private keys on a hot machine.
But if you were the CIA/NSA/deep state, isn’t this exactly the attitude you’d want from the people who were wide awake to what you’re doing? Wouldn’t you want them to think you were all powerful, had infiltrated everywhere and could destroy them at any moment?
Wouldn’t that be preferable to them openly saying, fuck the CIA and the deep state, I know my rights, and I’m going to exercise them. And I’m going to persuade as many people as I can to do the same. And if you come after me, good luck. There are millions more like me, and any attack on me or violation of my rights will only motivate them 10x more.
We are using their own names, and as you can see we are intelligent, accomplished people who offer value to society. We are powerful, and we are no longer tolerating the crimes you commit on our behalf.
Which attitude would you prefer if you were the deep state?
Is it not possible that part of the psy-op is for independent-minded, red-pilled people to live in fear and extreme caution rather than openly standing up?
