I don't think this is funny. I think this is why we need to build Virtual Communities on nostr.

"Virtual communities are the networks of individuals or groups which are not necessarily closely-connected geographically. The “virtual” is meant to imply a non-physical linking, but should not be taken to mean that these are any less community-like than are conventional physical communities."

- Tim C. May

Imagine if the Tea App used Nostr keys for identity instead of pictures of ID's designed to find your address so the governnment knows where to kidnap you or steal your car if you don't pay your taxes.

This information is a digital gold mine for criminals like the government, mafia, or other sick son's of bitches.

An npub is mathematical verification, proof that the person you meet at a conference is the same person you're talking to online. It does not require giving location information to verify your gender.

The Tea App looks like a great idea for a nostr client.

Virtual communities require privacy.

Privacy is not inherent in Nostr.

When I found Nostr, I was hoping it would be the freedom replcement for various centralized chat groups, but the current design makes that too difficult for that to be accomplished.

True, but it's more private than licence photos.
