Always fun stuff! I've been tweaking up the new cluster and stuffing centralized observability in.
- 10G Hardware upgrades (more to come next week :))
- Got two physical machines migrated
- Migrated over 20tb of data collectively
- Went from 7 to 16tb of redundant storage
- All arrays got hot spares
- Decommed and old power sucker
- Fixed some bindfs perf issues
- A billion other network security and perf changes XD
Hopefully soon Ill have a second off-site backup that isn't on the cloud
Hell yeah, I'm migrating a stack of services off of VPS's to physical machines in my house.
This is incredibly interesting. I wish I could have a server closet in this small apartment. But... Wife and cats 😂
Although I don't necessarily need anything super obnoxious.... But I want it.
Mini PCs are all the rage sir. Raspberry pis are a bit of a shitcoin now, but they're still an option for people too!
I am using a cluster of Lenovo Thinkcenters.
Happen to get a deal on them? I know things changed for me when I got a pile of 11Gen Dell Precision machines for like $20 at a random farmers market I went to XD
Yeah, someone gave a decent break on bare bones units on eBay and I got three of them. I did have to buy a couple sticks of RAM which hurt, but I had the hard drives and most of the RAM I needed to give them a proper upgrade to be a nice little home server cluster.
