Rust is the pretentious PHD student of programming languages
s,Rust,Haskell
What't your go to?
I’m just a humble Python pleb, learning a bit of Go.
These days I mostly do data modeling with dbt (a SQL framework for data warehouse environments). “Analytics Engineer” is the trendy title for what I do.
I was just shitposting about Rust 😂 but the more I learn about its complicated type system, the less I care to try learning it
Zig seems like an interesting take on a modern systems language
True, but IRL all the pretentious PHD students use python. It's how we got where we are today.
🤣🤣🤣
Phd students do love python
I also love Python and I never studied CS, and I certainly do not have a PHD 😂
Python certainly has its flaws, but it’s old af. Go seems like a great balance of performance and ease of use. But at the end of the day, it’s all tradeoffs, and certainly Rust has its place too 🤷♂️
