I think on some level it’s probably well-intentioned, but it takes a pretty privileged mindset to say that bitcoin is too offensive to talk about and we need to remove it from our profiles and our discourse. The war against free speech, freedom of information, and freedom of commerce gets worse and worse. Look at what the EU did just yesterday with more regulations of big tech in the name of keeping people “safe” from “harmful information.” Look at the global push toward CBDC and the completely financial surveillance that would enable. I’m happy to share and talk about my hobbies with other like minded people, and I see Nostr as a place anyone can do that. But to suggest that can’t happen unless we stop talking about solutions to the biggest issues facing humanity is ridiculous.

I agree with everything you have said here.

The government doesn't get to tell anyone in America what 'harmful information' is, and what is 'safe'. Gives you an indication of what our Constitution does for us.. God, keep blessing our Founders In our country, it's the Left who would say this kind of thing, and have.. I'd tell them to recite the 'Sticks and Stones will break my bones' then tell then to fuck off.  Pardon my French. I'm an American. I'll decide to listen or not listen.
