I got a bit scared of SimpleX Desktop and how limited it was in terms of using 1 account on 2(ish) devices. It got me to think about multi-device sync more in depth though. Now I avoid it anywhere I'm not in total control of it.
I don't really even like that simpleX needs it's central domain for invite links. It's gotta be a relatively simple API; I'd love to configure & host it myself.
