I had the distinctly strange pleasure of making protest signs with my 74-year-old mom today. Here are our signs for the #NoKings march tomorrow.
My mom expressed sorrow that her upcoming international travel will be the first time she's been ashamed to be American. I told her I've always been mildly ashamed of it, and on top of that, I'm ashamed that I've never done anything about it until now.
It's past time to fix this.

I've never been one to write songs about politics or current events, but for reasons I imagine most of you will understand, I was recently moved to write a protest song.
I've also never been super moved by protest songs until recently, but goddamn if the good ones don't bring tears to my eyes right now.
Love all y'all, wishing you the very best. #Resist.
I'm pretty sure I made a lot of beginner mistakes in my seed buying, but damn it, I'm finally gonna go for it this year! I got some lights and shelves to start seeds in my basement and I'm doing two 4x8 raised beds this year.
My yard will feed me and me peeps and it will look good doing it.

A wonderful reminder from The Marginalian and Oliver Sacks that maintaining the human scale will continue to grow more important (and more difficult) in our time of perpetual growth. I, for one, would appreciate a model that could turn out something that Oliver Sacks might say about any given topic.
