The way information spreads through the #nostr network is not similar enough to #bittorrent. In some sense, there isn't even a Nostr network. There are many fragmented, disconnected networks. The fact that notes don't spread between these disjointed networks, when someone connects to both at the same time, is a profound missed opportunity. Forcing everyone into a small number of centralized relays if they want to be able to see everything is the opposite of what I originally thought Nostr was trying to achieve.
