As a Moroccan, I can confirm that it would be impossible to live freely with Jihad’s identity in Morocco as it is a Muslim country, so the laws and regulations reflect that to a certain extent. I pray for his safe passage, humanity first.

A good friend of mine is looking to get out of Morocco asap to escape a dangerous family situation, on top of struggling with employment and safety as a trans person. I do have good news that he got out of Morocco this weekend!! I am very thankful and excited to know he arrived to his next destination safely. It’s not necessarily a place better for trans life, but at least he’s away from the specific people threatening him. With a little healing, I am hopeful he will be able to move towards his next destination (that will provide more political safety) sooner than later.
