GM Nostr. Quick question: Any good screenshot annotation tools for Android? I'm looking for something like Shottr, with basic cropping, adding text, arrows, drawing rectangles, and possibly blurring text. I have a strong preference for FOSS but am willing to pay a one-time fee for exceptional software (no subscriptions). It should work well on both mobile and tablets.

Signal does a lot of that.

I use it to blur stuff. But it's not great to annotate screenshots. Its funny how I can't seem to find such a fundamental app for Android when there are so many alternatives for Desktops.

How much annotation are you putting on an image?

Enough to be looking for an app to do this 🤣.

Works pretty well for me.

It is just... Too clunky. Plus no arrows, no rectangles, no highlighting, etc. This is no dis on Signal, the fact that it has any annotation capabilities is already impressive, but I'm looking for a proper screenshot annotation tool like Flameshot, Ksnip, Shutter, etc.

Lol, very useful. Many thanks for your insights and contributions.

Couldnt help myself. Thanks for being a good sport to my shit posts.

did a quick search on F-Droid but couldn't find anything 💔

Thanks for doing a bit of research on it. I found some proprietary alternatives on Android Store like iMarkup and ScreenMaster. They all look the same, bombard you with apps and aren't particularly well done. I think that apps like Flameshot have spoiled me. They are so good that when I need to deal with the average proprietary crap I set the bar too high.

i love flameshot 🔥💜

though been using the default in KDE since wayland
