No, they only can function as an interface for a Reticulum instance to use.
There technically IS uRNS which can be used for a full Reticulum instance on an ESP32, but this is not what I am running right now - I'm running the normal RNode firmware.
So you would have to run say a pi zero or other SBC as a node and then connect it to an Rnode
