me as a node runner i can always change my node

because you can also spam the blockchain
even with a op return limit ?! imo
it's a matter of degree though... no limit means they can put a lot more data in one transaction
it doesn't matter much in the sense that they are already exploiting witness data but that also is being mitigated in several ways now too
all the legitimate use cases for op_return don't need more than 80 bytes, that covers you for two identifiers and another 24 bytes left over
The curent OP_RETURN size is 80bytes.
You can store short text or HASHES of files.
For example, we wanted to use it to copyright our publications. That is an ok use I think.
But Core wants to get rid of the limit altogether. That open up room for a lot of spam. And also the way they have been dping that is suspicious.
