I love the discussions about banning this and that, banning Bitcoin, banning #guns, banning, banning, banning.

"The tool itself having no moral character, and any object in the world doesn't have a moral character. So this means my knife in the kitchen I can use to butter my bread, or I can use it to slice somebody's throat. It's not the butter knife that is good or evil. It is the human actor, the moral agent, who gives an action, the moral character, whether we see it as good or evil.

And you can do this with anything with the shoes of a bank robbery, with the car to get away from the bank robbery, with the phone lines being used to blackmail people. And like any #technology, can be used for bad purposes. So this, I think, is the argument we have to push back against.

When the regulators say, oh, #Monero, #Bitcoin, whatever, it's too dangerous. We cannot let the people have it. Well, yes, it's going to be used by criminals, yeah, but it's not inherent in the tool."
