Rarely
Same, I had my relays on amethyst set up so Global was only from the welcome nostr relay, which filters out everything except new account (I think it's new account notes for a couple of days or so since their jokes date).
But perhaps it's worth dipping into once in a while, like fiddling around with the radio dial ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I think I should look at it more often to find people and topics outside of my norm
I keep just my paid relays, welcome, and bitcoinerdotsocial on for global & it's fairly coherent. Sometimes band if it's slow.
Maybe you can try wss://nostr-id-relay.hf.space
It is designed as special family-friendly relay for global feed. Half of the planned features already implemented. 😅
There are various usage examples on how to use the relays in Github:
no global on nostr:npub1cyvdrwq55epxvucwwhmvz8zll2tdq6qml6jef4tykslnp9up8pzqp3ljam, but theres explore tab not sure what relays that connects to but i do look at it sometimes and i dont see spam 🤷🏻♂️
What is guest account 👀👀

Displaying a “global” feed is actually a client showing all posts from a set of relays. I never really like the concept of a global feed because it isn’t socially scoped.
Anyway it’s clients and not relays that decide what to display.
On damus you can switch it to only paid relays
I always look let global. How are you going to find anything new?
Do you look at it often? Do you have any luck finding anything/anyone new to follow?
I wonder what you global set up is, I've had it on before and it was barely coping with the amount of stuff posted, especially from bots
That's the thing. I try to keep my global feed as 'clean' as possible blocking bots, politics, users that don't speak English (nothing personal, I'm just not in Portugal/Japan/ China that those posts are kind of irrelevant to me)
By doing that, it takes away all that noise, and I see new and interesting posts and people to follow.
That's why I get mad when amethyst deletes my muted list because I have to filter it all out again.
Through the conversations tab. I'm slowly, pickily growing my own group that I like to follow now. I haven't had to prune anyone in a couple of weeks.
That's what's up. Yeah I need to go in it more the reason why I haven't is because the conversation tab just looks so funky on all over the place on Amethyst but I think I'm going to start going in there more
Yes, but, if you see something you want to know the context of, then you just click that note and you go to the whole thread.
