If the uppers are still good I Would just resolve them. Hard to find good boots anymore.
I don’t think those can generally be resoled. There’s no welt visible, probably a direct attach.
Correct, not a resoleable model. But I just purchased a similar pair, US made and resoleable this time, we shall see..still keeping these as a backup, they're very comfy lol
I bought a pair of thorogoods a couple months back, blew out the mock toe by dropping a railroad tie on it, so I then ordered a pair of Drew’s all leather loggers and Ann so glad I did. They’ve been amazing. I’m planning to send the thorogoods to Wyatt & Dad and have the toe patched so I have backups/shitkickers
How long did they last? I can't get a pair of shoes to make it past a year. Been spending less than $200 on a pair though.
Those have two solid years on them. I just purchased a similar model, but US made and resoleable this time. We shall see
These were about 350. That's a lot of dough but this is what's on my feet about 85 percent of the time...
Maybe I'm better off just getting a pair of $60 boots every 6mo... It's so hard to drop that much cash in one shot. Knowing me, I'll do something stupid and ruin them early anyway.
Oh I have the same concerns, I've been pretty lucky but yeah between grease, oil, diesel fuel, mud and hot work etc one misstep from getting wrecked lol. I always have a few still useable old pairs on the bench just in case. I've worked with a handful of guys that have found the 60 dollar ish ones on amazon and swear they are awesome, so there is that...
I was that $60 dude, starting blowing ‘em out within a couple months. Paid $370 for these and have been wearing them everyday for the last couple months, so far not one single regret. Even using leather laces. Customer service was amazing, had to email them about what size I should order because their last is a little different.

Haven't seen that brand until now, damn those look solid!
Yeah I was looking into Nicks but lying $600 for a pair of boots was hard to swallow, so my buddy just happened to find this brand (he’s also kind of a boot nerd) and they do two options, these which are handmade in Mexico or the option handmade in Oregon (also like $600). I don’t know about y’all, but I’ve seen a lot of nice handmade boots come out of Mexico so I was good with that lol
