I don't understand what people liked about Cormac McCarthy's End of the Road. Some good father/son moments, I guess, but overall I've never seen a more bleak and depressing film. Perhaps the book was better? (I didn't know it was a book first until after I'd seen the film).

It’s been years, but I vividly remember feeling the intensity of their situation. The hopelessness and the perseverance.
