Sometimes when I'm coding, I forget to take breaks, eat food, or drink water. I'm just crunching away, pounding on the keyboard, trying to keep progressing. It's a strength, but also a weakness. I need to find a balance and ensure I look after myself. And funny enough, taking a break sometimes let's me finally figure out certain logic I couldn't when I was stressed and fatigued.

Taking a break is necessary. You get to figure out solutions while say having a bite of your food. then you can’t wait to get back on the keyboard 🎹

Exactly this. I've found that to be the case. Now, to just become more present in the moment when I'm around loved ones, and not so consumed by thought.

I feel this. A superstar copywriter turned me on to the Pomodoro method. And like many others, I found it to work wonders for creative work. Break periods are essential for breakthroughs.

I'll have to research that method, thanks

It happens. I don't think it's a bad thing.

Until you go for about two weeks straight sleeping 2-4 hours a night and literally get sick after. Then it's bad. But otherwise? Just keep a thermos of electrolyte water or hot bone broth with you.

Yea, I am def a night owl. No sleep for the wicked!

You should check out a book called Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker.

Different people have different sleep schedules, but he goes into how everyone can find out what that schedule is for you and get enough sleep and what the consequences are if you don't.

That's what's great about cigarettes.

I don't smoke anymore, but I drink copious amounts of coffee these days

Take a walk every few hours

Yea, agreed, some fresh air would be good
