Does anyone have an idiot proof tutorial for learning how to point domains? I have hostinger (domain) pointing to duckdns domain (for dynamic ip updating) pointing to my reverse proxy nginx server (that’s probably also misconfigured) that points to my self hosted servers. I think I’ve messed up at every opportunity because no matter what CNAME or reverse proxy entry I put I seem to only get 502 bad Gateway.

My lack of understanding is preventing me from connecting to bitcoin core, lnd, electrs, vaultwarden, nostr nodes, nexcloud, Immich, audiobook library, jellyfin, and a bunch of other fun things.

Zaps to the best guide for straightening this out! ⚡️⚡️🫡

the dyndns approach still puts your home IP in the DNS for everyone to see. I like the approach of setting up a wireguard tunnel from a VPS to your home servers. then the public facing IP is the VPS IP an no one knows your home IP. The best tutorial on this is 402 payment required: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzKj5garlIE
