The Fediverse is a more resilient model but your account is still linked to a particular instance and they do get taken down. Nostr is the next logical step and even if I'm not all that convinced many of the developers currently at work on the protocol have much commitment to free speech, the code is there and sooner or later those who value freedom of expression will need to use it.

Not necessarily shitlibs, though there's definitely a few. I just don't get the impression many of them realise what's at stake and I don't trust them not to build content moderation tools into their clients which will ultimately prove to be oppressive. Like I said though, the free speech absolutists will turn up soon enough.

Nostr is antifragile
