A hardware wallet is just someone else's computer. Nothing magical. Until you understand this, you will always attribute inappropriate levels of "feel good" to it.

"someone else's computer"? Huh?
💯 someone else's computer, but WAY worse. It's not a general purpose computer, so for any rescue attempts, you're now paying a highly skilled digital electronics expert.
Hopefully you can trust them to be honest during any repair or recovery procedure. And if the hardware is extremely hardened, recovery efforts become exponentially more costly.
You must consider any hardware device as a disposable & interchangeable piece of any strategy.
And general purpose devices bring their own faults & considerations.
