Unfortunately, the other clients just can't keep up.
It would be interesting to explore a transitional phase were Nip-04 becomes Nip-17 until then keep it backwards compatible until the noobs catch up to your skill level in nostr client development.

I would assume that the corporate client, and the fossy-corporate client would at the very least be able to keep up since their devs seem to also be intelligent people.
I'd totally get why smaller clients couldn't due to funding, or incompetence but I'd assume the big multi-platform client, and the biggest ios client would be able to keep up with the standards in this regard.
Idk it's a Nostr, the standards are always changing, and evolving, maybe they'll be a simpleX nostr integration one day that just invalidates both standards who knows?
