Bitwarden because i don't want to deal with the local hosting and it works great cross platform.

Do you mitigate somehow the third party risk of bitwarden?

dont keep critical stuff in there..or encode it yourself so it wouldn't make sense if a third party read it... enable 2fa where possible and where its really needed.

With not keeping critical stuff in a password manager, don't we lose its purpose?

not for me, i use it mainly for accounts on normal sites where getting hacked doesn't mean that much. And exchanges and bank sites where you could lose money have 2fa implemented anyway.

KeepassXC - the power of the original Keepass, packed in a modern UI.

Do you sync your db file across devices?

Nope, just using it on my work device.

I use a vaultwarden hosted on a mini pc running fedora. It works with the apple bitwarden app and the bitwarden extension. I think any are good choices but it depends on your use case.

What features are not available using the vaultwarden backend?

There is nothing that comes to mind of not being available. Organizations worked and I have 2fa running with the 2FASAuth app. I only use it for my passwords so it doesn’t need to do much for me. Was there a feature you had in mind that might not work?
