"Buenos dias" I said in passing.

"Buenos dias. What do you think of this town" was the quick reply and she directed her steps to me.

Her eyes were faded blue around the edges by 60 years of bright sun at 4000 feet in this mountain town.

She proceeded to give me an earful on Msr le President de El Salvador:

"Some presidents are bad and they do bad things. He lowered the minimum salary and the prices are going up! And everyone voted for him!"

She shook her head in disdain for all those misguided fellow citizens. I can relate to that same feeling, of being against the whole world. How could they be so stupid to participate in their own punishment.

I nodded in agreement and repeated "some presidents do bad things". I had someone else in mind :-D
