Tearing out this rotten improperly built old deck for my sister and replacing it makes me really miss new construction. Already put a screw through my boot.
My only experience is with old. Its been wildly frustrating for the most part 🙃

Yeah it’s always such a pain in the ass to deal with improperly built and improperly maintained.
Remodels on anything less than 10yo is wild. Peak Fiat builds.
