Can you explain how it exactly works and what the model is for scihub ?
**Library for the future generations **
What can be #nostr equivalent of SciHub, Libgen ???
How it should look like for free and open knowledge sharing, sharing of research papers and pdf and data and everything else sciency !!! ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
I would love to contribute or start something if needed. Should each research paper has its own public and private keys, or each author should have one ??? What if an author forgot/misplaced/notbackedup their private keys ? Will he loose authorship?? What about the co-authors??
These questions should be discussed imo nostr:npub1sn0wdenkukak0d9dfczzeacvhkrgz92ak56egt7vdgzn8pv2wfqqhrjdv9

Hii nostr:npub183cew3aj00r3lk058huwy8qah5ej7v0u4ygs9xwhl6yl34wvq0jsqwmxya SciHub and LibraryGenesis are two separate projects started and maintained mainly by Alexandra Elbakyan -https://twitter.com/ringo_ring - who is operating under Russia, against various lawsuits and arrest orders by US-FBI, Sweden, France, Belgium, India, UK etc. (US$15 million damages)
The SciHub mainly caters to researchers who need to access research articles which are paywalled behind corporate media CDN servers. For e.g. - this is an article known by its unique DOI: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.biopsycho.2023.108636
Scihub instance is currently hosted at: https://sci-hub.se/
It works by taking a DOI of an article, and uses multiple institutional access systems to search across publisher platforms, bypassing any access control barriers, and it retrieves a copy of the item. Since many universities buy hefty subscription for these Journals, which are actually reviewed, edited and run by scientists (UNPAID).
SciHub then does two things. One, it delivers a copy back to the user who requested it; two it stores a copy in its server so that it is easier to serve up when the next request comes in. SciHub generally runs on #bitcoin donations.
