I think we need to have a family discussion about prioritizing home repairs and creating a reasonable budget for maintaining the integrity of our house, even if it means spending a bit more upfront to avoid repeated repairs down the road. While fun discretionary purchases like new TVs and instruments are enjoyable, we should be mindful that allocating some of that money towards necessary replacements and repairs could prevent much larger costs over time. I want to work together on finding solutions like buying used items or making large purchases a group decision after consulting our budget. With some compromise and intentionality, I believe we can find a better balance between wants and needs that sets our family up for success now while continuing to enjoy some of life's fun luxuries in moderation.

This might work because some of them are getting older and running out of funds. One of them is retired and has to go scrapping now. So they dig through junk and sell it to the scrap yard.

We certainly need some kind of discussion like this
