Yeah, I think there could be interesting uses. I think I (and maybe some others?) Just don't want to see them, well not on profile. Perhaps that's more of an aesthetic preference. I wasn't aware damus didn't integrate, but that makes me want to get damus on android even more. I suppose badges could happily sit in one of the tabs under a profile (on amethyst) hidden from those who don't want to see and there for those who care to look(?)

I’d like to see an experiment with using badges as part of a gamified onboarding experience. e.g. setting up your profile, adding LNURL/LN address, send first zap, etc.

I was a little concerned that they couldn't be removed after accepting 9 of them. They can be.
I don't know how useful they are. I think they could be used to signal groups that you are a part of.
Too many badges on a profile seems to put a heavy load on & sometimes crash my client when viewing them.

They could be cool if done right. Like a signal of when you got into nostr based on the badges collected which might unlock something cosmetic like an avatar border etc.

Maybe a permatag-like feature would be useful. I'm not sure what NIP-58 improves though. An optional field for tags, links or alternative text next to a user's handle might be useful for #Nostr UI

Really good marketing and alternative monetization tool. The fact that anyone can mint one is fun too. Probably not something I will use much, but they make a lot of sense.
