Reminder that normie world still exists and most people don’t think about any of the things we think about for more than a few fleeting seconds, if ever.

I’ve subscribed to this alert for years. We’re only really on the radar in the public mind when the number reaches triple digits. There’s still time to stack.

Yes. This is very true. Crypto is niche... Bitcoin is more niche and nostr is Uber niche.

Not everyone needs to care about this stuff or is even capable or ready. Important to realise this and meet people where they're at IMO.

Being open to teaching or telling others about it all is great but also not being pushy or annoying.

This requires learning about: computing science, tech, financial theory and sociology. Not everyone has the bandwidth for dense material.

Gentle and slow approaches work the best IMO

I disagree about one point. Bitcoin, while it’s true that it’s still niche, is the asset by which all other crypto assets should be measured. They can try to make claims about having superior technology or features, but they will always be one of the thousands of attempts to recreate something that can’t be recreated. This is why I always turn the conversation away from crypto and focus on bitcoin when people ask me to explain this stuff. Keeping it simple is the challenge, and if you don’t have the time or capacity to understand bitcoin, you’re definitely not going to be able to understand the difference.
