Anyone got that meme graph of the British pound being overtaken by the US dollar followed by the US dollar getting overtaken by Bitcoin?

Each empire's currency had an arch-like trajectory and each intersection of arches represents a monetary Thucydides trap.

ChatGPT can generate that for you. You can then copy/paste it into a python file with a bit of setup. Of course it wouldn't be based on facts (the code), but that isn't the point I'm trying to make sincerely.

99% of my "AI usage" has been me typing stuff into Google like I have for 30 years or whatever.

I don't have ChatGPT or any AI other than Google's occasional AI based search results.

That said, I am going to be looking at some AI stuff through work in the immediate and foreseeable future but as far as I know, ChatGPT is not what they want to use.

It's a lot like Bitcoin. If one doesn't know anyone who can serve as a guide, one might be hesitant to "dive in" on one's own.

It's also something of a Catch-22 because if we've never had this tool, we aren't necessarily going to think of ways that it could be useful and if it does not occur to us to make use of the tool, there isn't a point to having the tool. As far as I know, AI is a paid service and, I'm assuming, they have extremely limited free versions and/or free trial periods to help offset initial subscription costs for people who don't see how AI could help them enough to warrant paying for an AI subscription.

The other big kicker is security. AI seems like a security threat and I'm not interested in inviting any vampires in the house to play. I don't know enough about it yet.

I would tend to imagine that a lot of people are in the same position I am, but, on the other hand, I'm sure that a lot of people are using AI.

What 101 level AI resources would you suggest for someone not interested in experimenting with AI at all yet, but rather for someone interested in kicking tires and learning about it?

I feel like a drug dealer offering a cigarette, but I know you will take the cigarette home to study the organic compounds.

With that said, the cigarette is duck.ai

No login, works over TOR, it only collects the data you feed it, which can easily be used to identify you.

I started with https://www.deeplearningbook.org/

gave up early on, and just got addicted to the cigarette.

Enjoy

duck.ai is what i use but i’ve also been looking for a better product as my ai usage is increasing
