I answered your question; if you don’t like the answer to your underlying question - and you fail to see the moral implications posed - then that’s on you, and not for me to spell out for you
but if you must have me answer it literally - you are equating chopping one’s arm off to sex reassignment surgery; it’s a false equivalence. you are betting on the horror-factor of losing one’s arm in an attempt to prove a point. no hormonal or genetic makeup is dictating anyone alive today to remove a limb.
which is asides from the *real* point -
imagine waking up everyday, looking in the mirror, dressing yourself, going outside, interacting with your family, friends, strangers, everyday, for years, and not feeling yourself. through no fault of your own, you identify more with the opposite sex, but society has deemed it - and by extension, YOU - unacceptable.
YOU are told, in no uncertain terms, that you are an abomination, and that you are a pox on the world.
- now attempt to go through your life unphased by this waking-nightmare, and come out the other side with zero ramifications on your mental health and psyche.
who am I to deny these people’s unshakeable conviction, and to tell them that they are merely “deluded”
you don’t need to understand, you merely have to accept
I’m not altering fact or science, although I must say I’m deeply curious to know how you must assuredly be an astute scientist to refute the findings of psychology.org
I’m not oppressing anyone, or propagating any dogma, by stating “be and let be”
just because your rights allow you to disagree with any one person’s lifestyle doesn’t entitle you to pass judgment on it as trivial, or in some way faulty; self-sovereignty is permitted to all, and that’s all transgender people desire - the freedom to be who they feel they are you
