So I'm liking my fedora Linux desktop setup, but I'm using an old, cheap keyboard and mouse.
I'm used to the quality of an iMac keyboard and mouse, what's a good equivalent?

I have a friend who swears by a Logitech model, that it's the closest thing to a mac keyboard. Short throw "chicklet" or something I think they call it right? That could be an option for you. I'm pretty sure its not cheap though.
Thanks
+1 For the use of Fedora though. what desktop spin are you using? I'm personally a KDE enjoyer.
I'm using Workstation.
sudo dnf install @kde-desktop-environment
log out and select KDE.
You can thank me later π€£
I used to have MSI laptop with linux, I loved the keyboard setup (from steelseries actually), very compact so I had those underneath keys like PG up and down and HOME under arrows, great for navigating. I was looking for the replacement or external one, never found it. Sorry for such a useless comment haha just wanted to say my thoughts to someome who could understand
That is useless, but thanks for sharing π
I always swear by Microsoft keyboards, ironically enough. Usually a Logitech mouse.
I couldn't, I just couldn't π
The magic touch mouse ?
Is what you're used to?
Yes
I do like that thing, but I use a Logitech master m2 or whatever it's called, you likely know the one, and am happy with it. Not quite the same natural feel as that magic glass, but it's good. Think I stopped using the apple one because it was incompatible with PC and I switched between the two often with the newer mouse
Just DuckduckGo'd it
Does that work as an adjective? π
I've seen them, they look like serious π³
I might pop along to a computer shop and test drive one.
Thanks
It's always in threads I'd seen recommending mice for non gaming. One nice feature, is the scroll wheel has a little brake pad in it or something, which you can turn on or off. It has a nice haptic feel when turned on that is particularly nice on say a large spreadsheet you need to whip around. There are also a couple side thumb buttons (and a side scroll thumb wheel) if you are into those.
Spreadsheet?
Do I look like I need to use a spreadsheet π
I struggle to differentiate between left and right mouse buttons π
I'm probably going to opt for something simpler, but I'm definitely going to try one out.
lol, had a feeling that wouldn't be a selling point. I've spent more time in soreadsheets than I care to discuss. Happy mouse hunting
Oh, and it also had a cool feature that would let it connect to multiple machines as if one were just an extended display of the other. Including ability to copy paste between them. But I haven't been using it that much lately. Ok, done shilling this mouse now
Appleβs Universal Clipboard is something Iβve been looking for on Linux since day zero.
Now youβre talking π
i only use Corsair mechanical keyboards :)
