What do you have against Strike for enabling someone to keep a small portion of their stack usable in daily life? It allows me to live on a Bitcoin standard and hopefully helps adoption (as in, more people I can pay in directly in Bitcoin vs pay in fiat-then-bill-pay-in-btc).

Assuming people have most of their stack in cold storage, what's wrong with a really excellent Lightning wallet and fiat bill pay mechanism?

Why not run your own node?! Without any fees?

You can still pay through a third party bitcoin bills payment service if you really want to after collecting the points yourself with your credit card.

not that im advocating that, but why give your money and control to ronald mcdonald over there who thinks his country is superior and exceptional?

He reminds me of some kid working at McDonalds but people make him a Bitcoin hero.

Nothing can be further from the truth.

One day us bitcoiners are going to have to admit the public isn’t going to avoid kyc. Just not realistic.

Besides, if I’m only spending and never selling, and I know how to use coinjoin, lightning etc…

I use MY credit card. And then I pay the bill from my Bitcoin balance via Strike's bill pay routing number.

I get the points. Strike just gets a small Bitcoin fee.

It's more like "why do I use Nostr when there are way more private communication channels?".

It's (Strike, Nostr, etc.) imperfect, but for the purpose it serves, it's currently the best option. And until a better option replaces it, I'll use it carefully for how it serves me best.

One day I hope to be using sovereign Lightning with other sovereign Lightning peers. Until then, I'll do that where I can and use the imperfect options where I can't.
