Always fun listening to my younger brother reason out why he would join the military but...

Personally i joined, not for purely patriotic reasons but as an exit from my families economic status at the time. Had fun, met some cool people and overall loved being at sea. Since then my dad & his wife have made smart decisions and through those decisions my youngest brother had a drastically different lifestyle and wanted for naught.

I say that to say this, i dont give a damn if he joins or not. When i tell him that i dont care he gets defensive and doubles down on China attacking Taiwan, bad OPSEC from a squad mate etc. This goes on until i again explain to him its his life do what you want but dont make an excuse for not doing something.
