I just used Bitcoin like money earlier today. I bought a premium account to a website that holds stores my memes for easy access. I could have used fiat to buy premium access to Twitter. Same thing.
I can exchange Bitcoin for goods and services with practically anyone on nostr, or my friends irl. They accept Bitcoin as a fungible form of money, and that makes it money.
You cannot buy groceries in the US with a Japanese yen. You have to exchange the yen for US dollars. Does that mean the yen is not a currency?
