Did some work on my car and I had a revelation. Cars built by unsound money are not meant to last. They’re cheaply built and designed to be difficult to repair yourself — because you’re not meant to. They’re built to last just long enough for you to buy or lease a new one — and let’s be honest, they prefer you leasing since “you’ll own nothing, and you’ll be happy”.

Making disposable EVs and hybrids because they’re good for the environment? They’re just that, disposable.

Carmakers have it all wrong. If they actually care about the environment (and consumer) they’d make a car that’s built to last, with quality materials, ICEs, that are easy and accessible to repair. A car like that could last decades, not 2-3 years like they do now.
