I bought a replacement hard drive so today's mission is: If I have all my nixos configuration in my github, how hard is it going to be to get fully back up and running.

I've had a hard time installing Nix and have no idea why.
It has a steep learning curve, but it's so nice when you get it all to work.
I just need to go down the NIXOS rabbit hole more. Thank you.
Search engines and lurking forums is so useless for learnimg NixOS. It's like a distro that is purpose built to keep non-autistic non-FP mid-curves from crossing the competency moat.
I just spent the afternoon just trying to get unstable packages in my nix.flake and passed down into the context of my configuration.nix, just so I could install cursor.
Every minor goal that would be a single install command in a normal distro winds up being a 2 hour ordeal.
Having Cursor index your dotfiles and explain what is going on and help explain why it's not working is such a help. I've learned a lot that way.
Yeah I had to use Copilot in the interim to get Cursor installed from the unstable repo. Somehow, pre-copilot, I was able to raw-dog this cheese grater of a config language to get Codium + Co-Pilot installed.
It will cause all the hassle in the world, but it is worth it 😉. NixOS once setup is the most stable and beautiful thing in the world.
