Back in my day, I had to tell my parents and siblings that I was using the Internet and to please not pickup the house phone to make a phone call.

I had a 9600 baud parallel port modem back in the day. The good old BBS's were the way to go. I still remember the ANSI Graphics on an old amber CRT.
