Oil changed and fixed a broken light on the old truck. Duck tape and zip ties to fix the light. Also stripped threads on the oil pan so I had to install a plug vs buying a new pan.

A sat saved is a sat earned.

Depends on the pan. I do threaded inserts on aluminum pans fairly regularly.

With tap and die?

An oversized tap to the necessary external thread size of the insert.

Then it's just install until flush and install new stock drain plug.

Yep. Those type of plugs are generally a quick fix that can be problematic later.
