How many times in history has isolationism worked out well? Genuine question.
Discussion
this isn't isolationism.
Only = no one else?
Therefore…isolated.
you're comparing it to historical isolationism where there was no connection to the outside world with trade or communication.
this is not giving out corrupt Charity from my forced tax dollars. but difference
Fair, there’s just a lot of isolationism interpretations that can be had with many of the things that are being proposed right now. But when there is so much shit getting thrown at the wall, it’s hard to know what specifically someone is referencing when they make a post.
its comes down to the exercise of power over other countries.
the argument is that if *we* aren't involved internationally in exercising our advantage over other places, China (or somebody) will be.
and they will leverage their resource advantage against us.
Therefore
if we're really America ONLY
we need to be active on the international stage or we fall behind and end up at a disadvantage.
I'd argue that that's done more harm than good over the years
maybe so, there's no way to tell.
but thats the argument
in essence
"some OTHER psycho will conquer the world and come after us, so we need our American psycos in government"
😕
America is a hollow shell and needs to focus on itself for a bit.
thats the end of the road result of the bargain that was made in bretton Woods.
