And don’t get me wrong, I’m an energy maxi; humans should be trying to use and capture as much energy as possible. Oil just seems incredibly fiat to me.

Contrary to propaganda from the current regime oil is a free market good, and unlike batteries and EVs, does not exist by fiat (i.e. by decree, and subsidy). On the contrary oil production remarkably still exists despite fiat decisions.

Given oil is practically 100% of energy needed for transport - cargo tankers, planes, semi-trucks, last mile - *absolutely everything* is delivered thanks to oil to make our lives the easiest they have been in recorded history.

Oil powers the backup generator all hospitals are connected to. Oil is the precursor to pharmaceuticals, and plastics (as much as we love to hate them) are key to medical devices.

Practically for you and me, oil gives us the freedom to pursue computer vocations, and not have to spend the majority of our time subsistence farming (thank you, oil powered tractor!).

So the question to ask is - what happens if oil is decreed banned, as Klaus, Ursula, and the current US regime would have by a few years time.

As for wars for resources, and fiat funded wars - yes, these exist. With or without oil. Let’s not conflate oil with war, as we should not conflate freedom tech bitcoin & nostr with “criminals”, as the NPCs at CNN may claim.
